DESCRIPTION:Saturday \, August 22\, 2026 | Rain Date: Saturday\, August 29 2026Join Dormont Arts for a day of outdoor painting at the Dormont Community Garden! This juried plein air contest is open to all artists and offers cash prizes for top finishers. \n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\n\n9:30 AM — Check-in at the garden\n\n\n\n10:00 AM — Painting begins\n\n\n\n3:00–3:30 PM — Artists return to the garden for photography and documentation of work\n\n\n\nArtists take work home to finish details and apply varnish\n\n\n\n\nArt in the Park — September 19\, 2026\n\n\n\nFinished works will be displayed at Art in the Park\, where winners will be announced. Artists will be asked to bring their completed paintings to the event.Judging: Work will be judged by local artist Josh Hoffman. \n\n\n\nPrizes\n\n\n\n\n1st Place: $250\n\n\n\n2nd Place: $150\n\n\n\n3rd Place: $100\n\n\n\n\nRegistration required. Sign up here before the event. \n\n\n\nRules:\n\n\n\n\nArtist check in is at 9:30\, turn in is between 3 and 3:30 at the Dormont Community Garden.\n\n\n\nArtists must paint “plein air” or outdoors\, in person\, on the day of the event. Works will be photographed at 3:30 pm for later judging by local award winning plein air painter Joshua Hoffman.\n\n\n\nArtists can paint on location\, anywhere in Dormont borough limits.\n\n\n\nArtist may take home work to frame or varnish their work when it dries.\n\n\n\nCash Prizes will be awarded at “Art in the Park” in Dormont Park on September 19th\, 2026. To win any of the cash prizes\, all artists agree to bring back and display their work at Art in the Park.\n\n\n\nArtists must supply their own painting supplies.
